EVENTS

ENJ Software Design

ENJ holds weekly software coding circles. Progress reports from the current circle--concentrating on transportation optimization and online mapping--can be read here. Potential participants should contact the organizer before attending. We also hold a multi-day software design marathon during late summer. Products from these events are released as ENJ open source software and additions to OSGeo projects.

ENJ Conference

The ENJ Conference brings together the world's leading thinkers on spatial science, engineering, art, and technology. The unusual two day meeting has no fixed agenda, following the self-organizing unconference format of gatherings such as SciFoo. Participation is by invitation only.

Discussions and Lectures

ENJ periodically hosts lectures, discussions, and workshops on spatial topics. These activities typically are convened near Santa Barbara, California. Check the website's front page for details.

spatial inspiration

ENJ stands for "Edge Node Junction" following an enumeration of geographic network primitives — and playing on the synonymous meaning of "junction" as a "meeting". Also, as a proponent of the maker, coder, engineering culture, ENJ is intended to be reminiscent of the word engineering.
